Why Join: Been playing manual (and also programming fifa) for realism with friends for like a decade. Not so much online, but lets:)

Like I said to Ristofer: For realism i think we should really look into legacy defending..(no contain, and no shirt pulling OP, and you can more easily give opponent less time on ball)

to be honest, I never really looked into what the actual difference was between the two settings. However, after just doing a quick search and read up on it, how do you feel it would help in the manual community? I can understand if you're up against zippity-zip assisted players where some additional help may be needed to stop an onslaught of unstoppable possession, but manual controls has a much higher rate of human error involved.

Just curious to hear your opinion.

I am 100% for this, Legacy Defending had it's flaws but in a wonderful twist of irony Tactical defending is not even slightly Tactical, it is now push and punch people off the ball and I in no way mean exaggeration!

I think most are like-minded, and maybe not this season, but next season suggest voting on things and features to improve 'Sim' matters.

Thanks for taking the time to think it over! Well, the gripe with tactical is actually contain and shirt pulling I think. U get rid of that. As for more pressure on opponent, I actually think u should have that option....it's not a good thing to use if u face a good manual player. He will pass himself out of pressure and take advantage of the extra space. So u will be hesitant to press constantly against a very good player. BUT it can reveal a not very good manual player....

Also, a real nice feature of Fifa 17 is that players that run a lot get a lot more tired than players just covering space. So, if u manage to keep possession even though your opponent is pressing u very much, his players will be absolutely exhausted even after like 55 mins. So, more pros for the good possession players...

But, like I said, the main reason is: using tactical, if u find yourself defending a 1v1 vs messi with lots of space behind u, just press contain and then pull his shirt and you're safe and sound..no worries. Using legacy, ure really in a tight spot in that situation. U have to react to his movements all by yourself and there's no backup option if he goes past u (pulling shirt). So if you're in that spot with legacy, u can feel the sweat beginning to pour.. Like it should be..

I can't remember the last time I used Legendary. lol
That said, I noticed you brought up one of my BIGGEST issues with this game as of the past couple of releases; 'shirt pulling' and I'll throw in 'shrugging off the ball with RIDICULOUS ease' for good measure. How does legendary get rid of that? Can't you still approach a player with the one you're controlling and then put body on him?

Sorry if I'm not understanding correctly. This is almost sounding like a Q&A session between gamer and developer. lol

Exactly, u can only run alongside him...as most players are significantly slower WITH the ball, you'll get in front of the attacker and just take the ball. But not with all players obviously. If u press green button when running alongside they will kinda do shoulder to shoulder but nothing like pulling in tactical. If attacker gets in front he's gone gone gone...:)

Im sitting in my couch sick all evening, hook me up if u wanna try!

Football is physical and does involve tugging and pulling. If you press L2 your player will shield and shrug off these approaches . If we start having all these rules the league will just have arguments. I'm just playing manual FIFA when I play . Im not commenting on other players play anymore . If I don't like their approach I just won't play them outside of league in friendlies.... let's not over complicate things again please ....

I played few games against Bajenjerka with legacy defending. Its not that different from tactical defending except pulling and pushing. Good passer can more easily punish you if you constantly press him. So for me we can use legacy in future. You should give it a try
